Since I've been a member of ARBA, there has been much chatter about attendance at the C/FA Draft. Personally, there is no way I can make a Saturday night draft, that is, if I don't want to spend the next week sleeping on the couch. Weekend nights are family time or date time, not strat time, lol.
So I was wondering if there were many members in the same boat and if it would possible to make the C/FA Draft an afternoon thing, instead of an evening start time. How would that affect everyone's attendance?
When I joined the league, this was typically done on a Sunday afternoon. At some point there was a vote to change it to a weekend night, which passed overwhelmingly (I voted against but I'm not sure anyone else did.)
There's been a lot of member turnover since, so I'd support voting again for 2018 and beyond. But I think the timing of the 2017 C/FA was announced long enough ago and is now close enough that it probably shouldn't be changed.
So no responses to my inquiry, other then Kevin saying he'd prefer the draft to be in the afternoon instead of the evening? Can I assume that the lack of responses means that moving the draft to the afternoon is either okay or preferable to everyone? Or has everyone simply been moved to general malaise by Surprise and Santa Fe's building into mega-powerhouse teams?
Sorry for my non response Rick. I'm in the Philippines, so it sucks for me no matter when it starts. Hence me rarely making it (though really wanting to) every year.
