So how long will the draft take. Bc if it's over a couple days I will not be able to do so at work. Witch sucks bc I like the league for the drafting and the trading. And I always have it go wrong when ever a list has to be made for a draft and wind up with crap when it should have drafted someone else.
Sorry just went to link Tom provided. So we won't even get threw one round a day. So bc people can't set aside 4-5 hours one day we could be doing the draft for 10 plus days. That makes no dang sense. The old way was fun, make some last min trade talk to people not threw email. Now it just not going to be fun anymore. I will play out this year and figure if I only want to keep one or none of my teams. And as a question to my last post, what happens when I look at my drafted player and I guy I had higher on my list a should have been drafted by me goes to a lower team and it drafts someone else. Dont say it cant happen bc it eventually will. It will throw off the draft.
I know that this is a big change from our traditional draft, but I have been fielding requests and complaints from other owners about the IOD draft format for some time and ultimately the league voted overwhelmingly (10-3-1) to use Strat Draft this year, so that's what we're going to do.
As I've mentioned a few times I am very open to suggestions about timing and process for Strat Draft. For example, making sure that we at least get through 1 round a day makes a lot of intuitive sense to me, so making the draft have mandatory drafting windows either for 13 hours with 30 minute slots or maybe 12 hours with 20 minute slots (thus 36 picks a day) sounds good.
With respect to your specific concern about the wrong player being taken, I have used Strat Draft in other leagues for years and know many people who have used it longer and I have never once heard of anything like that happening. So while I won't say it can't happen, I think it is *extraordinarily* unlikely.
I know that most people will not be able to check their picks while at work, which is why Strat Draft allows for a large number of pre-loaded picks (I believe 30). If people want, we could make sure that no more than that number of picks can be required in a day so that your list could never run out.
I would plan to allow trading of picks (and other things) during the draft, which is actually not currently allowed technically, so I think that would be *more* likely to result in trades during the draft instead of when most people are frantically trying to figure out their upcoming pick.
Ultimately, I ask that everyone try to be optimistic about the change and help me come up with procedures that will make this work out well.
