new pitcher injury rule

Been playing a ton of practice games. Not that I have that much time, but can't sleep lately and not much to do from 4 am till dawn. The amount of injuries to pitchers is absolutely ridiculous. Think Strat will need to rethink this for future seasons. However, maybe that is the reason that MLB has so many pitchers with so few innings. Just a thought.

Gary,

Yes, I have noticed the same thing.  It looks like we will be using the "Delete Last Play" function often to prevent those annoying pitcher injuries.  Fun!

So, can I delete all those annoying McCutchen clutch hits and PRETEND they were on pitcher injuries? Believe me, they are way more annoying than the pitcher injuries.

Yes, very noticeable- I just had 5 pitcher injuries in one 6-game series in my other league, but what really surprised me was one of them was for 60 games.

I'm very glad that our rules don't go there...

Wait.. this is an option for real?

It's not only an option, that's part of our rules.  ARBA doesn't do pitcher injuries.  Hopefully Strat will eventually make that an option that we can just turn off, but for now we have to use the Delete Last Play function.  Of course, that should not be used for batter injuries or when you just don't like the result!  no

Strat does have an option to turn off pitcher injuries.  All we need to do is go into the Update Player function for each pitcher, go to "Other Ratings", and change the "Injury" rating to 0.  Boom, that pitcher cannot get injured.

I would prefer an option that's much less tedious than updating all 383 active pitchers one by one...

Just make each manager update their own pitchers.  Takes all of 5 minutes.  They should be happy to do it, as opposed to continually hitting the "Delete Last Play" button.

Interesting option and I would have no problem editing my pitchers. Question I have is, how will this take care of my pitchers in road series? Also, if Eric does not have my pitchers edited in his game, then when he sends out an LZP will they still be edited in my game or does his LZP over ride the changes?

Good question Gary, not sure if the player edits will be retained in your computer manager file or not.

League restore will wipe out any player updates made that don't match.  However, I also recently discovered that player updates apparently come along with a CM, even though there is a warning about rosters not matching up.  So it could potentially work if people updated their players before sending default CMs, then all the changes would be in league files going forward.  Of course, it could all go horribly wrong.

Okay, after about 15 minutes of reflection...I don't want anyone else messing around with player ratings.  Way too much can go horribly wrong.  I'll deal with it myself and expect YOC to double my salary...

Done. Two times nothing is still nothing. Happy to report that league dues remain ZERO. handshake.gif
