Okay, so it turns out that I really should have traded Carter Capps before he was scheduled for TJ surgery. Oops! However, all the cool kids have TJ surgery and many of them come back strong. More important for his trade value, young Mr. Capps has a fantastic and balanced RH relief card to back up his 1.16 ERA and .474 OPS against. He can only provide 34 IP during the regular season, but pitched in just enough games to make him unlimited in the playoffs. Fun! Shiner is also still shopping 3B/DH David Freese and a few heavily discounted pitching prospects.
Shiner would need another pitcher to replace Capps on the roster, but it wouldn't necessarily have to be a 1-for-1 deal and I could even take care of that in the waiver draft. Shiner is rebuilding, so my focus is more on future than present value. Let the bidding commence!
I can neither confirm nor deny that rumor. However, we have assigned Crash Davis to teach Kopech some essential life lessons such as "when you get in a fight with a drunk, you don't hit him with your pitching hand!" Really, you should never hit anyone with your pitching hand. Million-dollar arm and five-cent head. <sigh>
