After belatedly realizing that Shiner won't be very good this season, veteran 3B David Freese has requested a trade to a potential contender.  Shiner would like to accommodate him, but would need a younger major league player in return as their minors are very crowded.  Current quality is less important than current quantity (carrying too many low PA/IP already) and of course future upside. Preferred positions include C, 3B, SS, or maybe SP.  For someone who I really like, Shiner would consider sweetening the deal with cash, another player, and/or a prospect.  Even if you aren't interested in Freese, let me know if you have an available youngish player who I might want and perhaps we can figure something out.
