Okay, perhaps blockbuster is a stretch, but we did make a deal!  The bored Shiner Blondes paid the established price for a Dime Box castoff because why not?  Shiner sends $50K of spare change to Austin in exchange for young hurler Matt Barnes. That should also give us the rights to NBA player Matt Barnes, but the lawyers are still working it out.  

By the way, Shiner is still seeking young talent at the major league level, particularly for their half empty rotation.  Trade bait could include a variety of cheap veterans who I'm content to keep as placeholders, but might have more value elsewhere. That group includes Yonder Alonso, Melky Cabrera, David Freese, Elian Herrera, Saint Yadier Molina, Mitch Moreland, Josh Collmenter, and Jake McGee.  There's also Gavin Floyd who can be stashed in the minors to await his comeback.
