Game 1 - Kazmir vs Wainwright

SJ would get off to a quick start scoring a run on singles by Murphy and Tulo, followed by a Brantley sac fly.  A Russell Martin double play ball and injury would end the inning.  HAR would answer in the 2nd with a Beltre double and Hamilton single.  The Murphy / Tulo duo would answer in the 3rd with back to back doubles.  The score would until the 6th when a Coghlan single and Ramirez walk chased Kazmir and brought in Wade Davis.  Davis was greeted with doubles by Martinez and Beltre.  HAR would add a run in the 7th and 4 in the 8th.  HAR wins 8-2.

Game 2 - McCarthy vs Strasburg

HAR would strike first scoring 2 runs in the 1st on a Pedroia single and doubles by Beltre and Coghlan.  HAR would add 3 more in the 4th on singles from Kiermaier, Bourn, and Pedroia with an Escobar double.  A Brantley double and Carter ground out would get SJ on the board in the 7th but that would be all the runs they would score.  HAR wins 5-1.

Game 3 - Darvish vs Zimmerman

This game would be anything but a pitchers duel as Zimmerman gave up 8 runs in 6 innings, with a Martinez HR doing most of the damage.  Darvish was only a little better allowing 4 runs in 5 innings with a Martin HR doing the damage for SJ.  Bullpens would take over allowing HAR 2 more runs and SJ 1 run.  HAR wins 10-5.

Game 4 - Kuroda vs Despaigne

HAR striked first with runs in the 2nd and 3rd.  Jay and Lind answered back with homeruns and a 3-2 lead ending Kuroda's day in the 4th.  Papelbon would give up 3 runs in the 6th and Despaigne would come within 1 out of a complete game.  SJ wins 6-3.

Game 5 - Lohse vs Kazmir

HAR striked early again scoring 2 runs in the 1st and 3rd, with a Martinez HR thrown in.  SJ battled back with 2 runs in the 2nd and 1 in the 3rd with a Jay HR doing most of the damage.  Lohse's day would end in the 4th with Melancon brought in to protect the lead.  He promptly gave up 3 runs on a Dunn HR.  Kazmir coasted the rest of the way for a complete game win.  SJ wins 6-4.

Game 6 - McCarthy vs Strasburg

With the HAR plan to rest Wainwright and Strasburg in game 4 and 5 failing miserably they would turn to Strasburg in game 6.  A Martin HR put SJ on the board in the 2nd, HAR answered with a run of their own in the bottom of the inning.  Beltre hit a 2 run HR in the bottom of the 3rd and that would be all the scoring for both teams in this game.  Martin saved 2 runs in this game blocking the plate.  HAR wins 3-1.

Congrats to Tom on a good season.  Obviously I tried to get cute and under estimated his team in games 4 and 5.

Progress in the CL Playoffs?  Hurrah!  Congratulations on vanquishing Tom and also validating my decision to not get cute with the rotation when up 3-0 on WAS.  But do you really want to face me in the playoffs again, Travis?  Just don't make it too obvious when you throw the CLDS.  Think of the children!

I would just like to point out for posterity that the 2 SJ wins came after I officially gave up on my team and decided to watch Game 5 of the MLB World Series instead, asking Trav to just play the remaining game(s) [unless we somehow got to a game 7 - so close!].  So, obviously, I'm Manager of the Year, right?  Right?

Tom, I wasn't going to say anything.

Eric, strat has to show me some love some time, right?  Right?

Tom, the Mets greatly appreciate your invaluable support.  Nah, get off the bandwagon!

Travis, the Strat gods did finally start to show me some love (mixed in with some hate) after 15+ seasons and more painful playoff failures than I care to recall.  So yeah, you're definitely overdue.  Will it finally happen?  Only time will tell...
