2. Russell Martin c B+

3. Chris Ray rhp B+

4. Jose Bautista 3b ?

Sickles rated Jose Capellan a B+. I obviously failed to include him in my top 10.

I found it interesting to rate my players before I knew the Sickles rating to see how close I was. In retrospect, Bautista may not belong on the list at all. I obviously think more of Botts than Sickles. Anyway, it's fun to compare. Only a couple of more days before we have our IOD draft. See everyone Saturday.

I failed to mention Andy Marte in the previous top 10 since he's carded.  I'd put him at #3 and Sickels gave him an A.  Also threw in Nieve and Putnam since Sickels was nice enough to give them B's...not sure I agree on Putnam.

Many thanks to Tom S. for giving me another opportunity to show off the Bombers' minor leaguers!

Okay.  I'm bored with not having anything new to read on this message board for a while.  So I went through the teams who posted here and looked at who off the top 10's played for the big club in APril and how did they do.  Gives us an idea of who may be getting reinforcements from the minor leagues in next year's ARBA season.  If you did not originally post your team's top 10 with a twist, feel free to update us on the progress of your team's prospects based on the 1st month of the season.

Houston- Jason Kubel began the year with the big club and struggled to produce.  He was sent to the minors when Ruben Sierra came off the dl.  When Sierra went back on the dl (big surprise there) Kubel remained at AAA.  Probably starting RF for Min by All-Star break.  Ricky Nolasco has had an up and down 1st month of his major league career out of the Fla bullpen.  Could end up with some 5th starter starts eventually.

Ft Worth- Chris Ray is Bal's closer and doing a good job.  Manny Del Carmen was recently recalled by Bos to pitch out of the bullpen.  Josh Willingham was obviously underrated in the top 10.  He has had an outstanding 1st month batting cleanup for Fla.  He has hit for power and continues to draw walks.  His nickname is Hammer.  Looks like more of a lf/dh than a catcher.  Jose Capellan is doing better in Mil's bullpen after a rough start.

Bethlehem- Looks like Dave gets to add 3 full-time rookie starting pitchers next year with Justin Verlander, Scott Olsen and Fernando Nieve.

Belfast- Francisco Liriano having success in the Min bullpen.  Spot in rotation cannot be far away.  Is he the best starting pitcher prospect in baseball?

Santa Fe- Connor Jackson is having mixed results through 1st month as Ariz starting 1b.  He may not help SFE out much next year, but the years after that should be a lot of help.

High Desert- Matt Cain is not enjoying the same level of success through 1st month as he did at end of last year.  Still, it looks like Keith has another outstanding righthanded starter for years to come.  Jon Papelbon went from top rated starting pitcher prospect to elite closer overnight.  Unbelievable.  Andre Eithier get's a mention eventhough he didn't recalled until May.  Will he stay with the big club?

Grand Prairie- No one at this point has played in April.

OKay the proverbial can of worms has been opened.  Fire away.
