There was no score until the bottom of the 6th when Beltre led off with a single and Hamilton doubled to put runner on 2nd and 3rd, Pedroia followed up with a single to score 2 runs. NMO answered in the 7th with a Andrus HBP and stolen base followed by a Carpenter double. No one would score again as Nathan would finish the 9th with a save. HAR wins 2-1.
Game 2: Fister vs Strasburg
Much different game as Cuddyer hit a solo shot in the first. NMO would increase their lead in the 2nd with a Morales lead off walk followed by singles by Walker, Saunders, Dirks, and Andrus. Loup would relieve Strasburg and get Carpenter to hit into a run scoring double play. Loup then intentionally walked Cuddyer and got Harper to ground out, 4-0 NMO. HAR answered with 2 runs in 3rd, after 2 outs Votto drew a walk, Hanley doubled, and Castillo plated 2 runs with a single. NMO tried to answer in the top of the 4th with 2 outs Andrus singled then Carpenter doubled but Andrus was thrown out trying to score. HAR would tie the game in the 4th with a Shane Robinson single, Pedroia double, Victorino single, and Bourn run scoring ground out. Another run would not score until the 12th inning. Pedroia led off the inning with a walk followed by a Vicorino sac bunt, Bourn grounded out to move the runner to 3rd. NMO brought in Jansen to face Butler who had little chance of getting a hit but of course he came through with a single to win the game. NMO got screwed on several occasions to score the winning run. HAR wins 5-4.
Game 3: Kuroda vs Cashner
HAR would start the scoring in the 2nd with a Martinez double followed by a Hamilton home run. A 2 base error by Carpenter would open the flood gates as Victorino singled then stole 2nd. Cashner didn't help his cause as he threw a wild pitch which scored a run. He would get Pedroia to ground out but Bourn would follow with a single to score a run. Another wild pitch would move Bourn to 2nd before Butler flied out. Votto was then intentionally walked but Hanley came through with a single scoring a run. Martinez then doubled scoring Votto but Hanley was thrown out at home trying to score. HAR led 6-0. NMO answered with 2 in the 4th on a Carpenter single and Santana home run. Votto answered in the 5th with a solo shot. HAR added another run in the 7th on a Bourn walk and unlikely Escobar double with 2 outs. HAR would hold on for the 8-2 victory.
Game 4: Lohse vs Tillman
HAR would get on the board first in the 2nd with a Hamilton double and Pedroia single followed by a run scoring ground out by Bourn. NMO answered with 3 runs in the 3rd on a Machado single and walks by Cuddyer and Harper followed by a 2 out Santana double. A Carpenter home run in the 5th extended the NMO lead. The score would remain the same until the 7th when HAR got hot. After a Bourn fly out Butler singled and Votto walked causing Tillman to be pulled from the game for Chad Gaudin who had been absolutely dominate so far in the series. Gaudin walked Ramirez to load the bases but got Martinez to hit into a run scoring ground out. With two outs Beltre hit a 3 run shot into the seats, followed by back to back home runs from Hamilton and Pedroia. HAR now led 7 to 4. Machado would answer in the bottom of the 7th with a solo shot bringing NMO to within 2 runs of the lead. Neither team would score again as Nathan was brought in for the save and to end the series. HAR wins 7-5.
Very pitching oriented series as both teams had really good starting rotations. Congrats to Warren on a good season, definitely got hosed in his game 2 loss.
