I finally made another trade today and we added a couple new owners recently (welcome!), so this seems like a good time to revisit the trade blocks.
SUR Needs:
1) SP! - Even after adding Buehrle, they still need help in this area.
2) 1B vs. LHP - Sadly, Gonzalez could use a platoon partner this season and lefty-mashing 1B typically aren't that hard to find.
3) Good LH Reliever - I should pick up one or two of these at some point, I guess, even though our rotation is mostly LHP.
Trade Bait (Carded):
1) Edwin Jackson (31 GS, 4.98 ERA) - Worst season in quite a while, but still playable, only 30 years old and should bounce back.
2) Ross Detwiler (13 GS, 4.04 ERA) - Former #1 pick got caught up in that injury plague, but at least got a card and wasn't bad. Very tough on LHP
3) John Lannan (14 GS, 5.33 ERA) - Um, wasn't he pretty good not long ago.
4) Justin Grimm (17 GS, 5.97 ERA) - Rookie just missed being a decent unlimited starter and instead is a pretty crappy limited one. But he's a Cub now, so that'll work out.
5) Matt Magill (6 GS, 6.51 ERA) - This rookie pitched just enough to get a card, but could be stashed in the minors or rolled out there for 35 terrible starts. Flexibility!
6) Logan Forsythe (267 APA, IF/OF) - He can play all over the place. Too bad he didn't really hit.
7) George Kontos (4.39 ERA, 61 AIP) - Could be a ROOGY, if you're into that sort of thing.
8) Franklin Morales (4.62 ERA, 28 AIP) - Minors eligible, pretty much a LOOGY for this season. I bid big money on him for some reason. I blame Tom.
More trade bait (Minor league prospects):
1) Brian Brickhouse (KC-RHP)
2) Drake Britton (Bos-LHP)
3) Kevin Comer (Hou-RHP)
4) Alfredo Marte (Ari-OF)
5) Carlos Perez (Hou-C)
6) Neil Ramirez (ChC-RHP)
7) Felipe Rivero (TB-LHP)
8) Drew Vettleson (TB-OF)
SUR can also deal cash and/or picks if necessary. Okay, enough for now. Bring on the fabulous offers!
