With the way the pitching staff has come together in Austin there is absolutely no place in the rotation for Orlando Hernandez. However, management made a serious blunder last year and locked him into a 2 year contract at 200k per year. We would like to let him go and he wants out where he can continue to pitch and not set the bench. Although his numbers were not up to his standards last year, he still put in 22 starts with 141 innings of a 5.12 era. Austin is willing to appease El Duque with minimal return. He can take his 22 starts, 141 innings and his cheap 200k salary to the first team that offers a 5th round draft pick.
