Okay, I'll play this game with Shiner as well. Despite massive collapses from several key contributors, the core is still good enough that I feel obligated to contend. We'll see how that turns out.
Needs: CF, LF, SP, 3B upgrade (Prado), SS upgrade (Desmond)
Available:
1) Mark Buehrle - Coming off his A contract from a recent auction to a mere B2, which is a bargain for his 31 GS and 3.59 ERA. He has been amazingly consistent, also.
2) Ramon Hernandez - Very good half-time catcher, which seems like a waste with this year's version of Yadier Molina as my starter.
3) Mike McCoy - Barely unlimited batter who played all over the place, who wouldn't want that?
4) Logan Forsythe - Rookie IF who kinda sucked, but he could get better!
5) I have to keep Martin Prado (3B) and Ian Desmond (SS) if I can't upgrade at those positions, but they're certainly available if I can.
6) Let's call them "Bounce-back Candidates" - Vernon Wells, Adam Dunn, Joel Pineiro, and John Lackey. Coming soon to a C auction near you!
Prospects, picks, and cash could also be in the mix heading either direction. I wouldn't be easy to pry loose my favorite prospects, however.
