First I want to congratulate Doug on his first ARBA championship. I didn't play the games but my dad said KC was a strong team and apparently a "hit and run" machine successfully accomplishing it over 50% of the time.
ok, wow, let me try this post again as apparently I can't watch football and pay attention to what I'm typing and submitting at the same time.
I want to discuss some playoff rules with the league that I've noticed on the last 3 years in the playoffs. This isn't a vent session b/c I've already done that multiple times when these rules have affected a series over the past couple years.
Since my team is rebuilding now is the perfect time to discuss them because I won't have anything to gain from any changes over the next 2-3 years.
Some of these rules I hadn't really paid attention to or fully understood their affect until I went through all the playoff rounds this year. Reading them on paper and actually experiencing the results can be quite different.
So what I'm going to do is make each rule it's own seperate post so we can accurately discuss them without mixing messages. What I will do is post the rule as now in the arba constitution. Then I will attempt to explain my opinion on the rule and why I think it should be changed. The rules (I think 4) have everything to do with IP, PA, injuries, to rest between series. I can tell you right now some of the explanations will be a bit long as I try to explain it, but hopefully it will be kept simple enough for everyone to understand everything and be able to give input on the rule.
This isn't about looking back in the past and wondering "what if"....the games have been played and all teams played under the same rules, what I want to do with this is get discussion going...I want people to put themselves in the playoff teams' shoes and understand how frustrating some of these things can be.
I don't understand the comment "until I went through all the playoff rounds this year". I am pretty sure that your dad went through those games not you...but maybe I am mistaken??!!
