So, I've had a few inquiries and thought I'd post my thoughts this season. First off - not looking for huge deals, I'm apparently no good at them. BRK is at the cusp of contention, so just looking to fill a couple of holes, but not moving any major pieces- Trout, the #1, etc. all sticking around.
What I do need are:
3B (How did it get this bad? I used to have Wright, ARod and Chipper)
part-time catcher who can hit lefties
DH
Strong middle relief
I also need stuff like back-of-the-rotation starters and such, but am assuming I can get away with a C/FA guy there.
Much as I'd love fantastic players who are under 25, I'm not prepared to pay those prices. More looking for "well, this guy isn't in my plans, I should get something for him" types of players.
I have a rich minor league system (although the top guys are untouchable, as soon as I figure out who they are) & picks after the 1st. At the major league level, it's pretty grim but open to ideas.
