Even after 10 trades, I'm still not quite satisfied.
First of all, I've come to the sad realization that SUR doesn't really have space for a third catcher, so Corky Miller (UL PA, good vs. LHP) is expendable.
Also, I'm still seeking improvement opportunities for the back of the pitching staff and the OF/DH team.
SUR is currently counting on10 different pitchers to start, which is somewhat ridiculous and doesn't leave much roster space for pure relievers. So it would be helpful to add another guy with at least double digit starts, even if he doesn't add much in terms of quality. That could make one or more pitchers available from the group of Detwiler, Marshall, Misch, Wells, and perhaps Niese. I'm not just going to give them away, however.
As for the OF, I haven't given up my seemingly hopeless quest for a good platoon CF vs. LHP. However, I would also be interested in upgrading from Andruw Jones as the RF vs. LHP. A good everyday RF (or CF) who can replace both Jones and Venable would also be intriguing. OF help could also free up Justin Maxwell's fun little card for trade. Finally, we could use another part-time bat that can help at DH. Scott Hairston could become expendable if we can get a better full-time OF or DH who can replace his prowess vs. LHP.
SUR can give or receive prospects and draft picks, but has little cash to spare.
