I think there does need to be a salary cap, but know that it will be hard to get that in the league.  So I will propose something that might help.

(A)The last 5 place teams will get a cash bonus. NOT to give money away but to make the team better. For example,

AUS 44-118 gets    600K
ELY 43-119            700K
WAS 42- 120         800K
KC 41-121             900K
BOS 39- 122        1000K

In case of a tie it would go like this
#1 pick KC             900K
#2 BOS                1000K
KC on the pick but BOS get the higher cash bonus.

or for a slite change

(B) Everything is the same but you have to win 40 game to be eligible for the cash bonus. If a team in not eligible for the cash bonus then the money moves up in the order. For example,

Pick #6 AUS 44-118    600K
#5 ELY 43-119           700K
#4 WAS 42-120         800K
#3 KC 41-121            900K
#2 BOS 40-122        1000K
#1 ??? 39-123               0K

I would like to see something if not this get in this year. If needed raise the amounts of wins to 50 to be eligible.  That will make more af an insentive to get better.  I dont think we should just give money away but if you try to get better then a little extra cash would help when it comes to the C draft in getting some better players.

If anyone would like to change or tweek anything fell free.

Doug,

I'm afraid that this would give the weak teams an even further incentive to tank games once they reached the 40 win plateau. We have had a real problem with GMs resting their better cards so as to have a higher pick. I dont think there is a shortage of cash in the league. I in fact think there is an overabundance if anything.
