I used to check daily for new content but now don't bother more than one or two days a week. I have tried to spark interest in lists or commenting about lists, but very few respond. It is rather disappointing.
Maybe Keith and I should get into another spat about one of my many underachieving minor leaguers.
I don't check here often, but if I did I might ask these questions:
How would I feel about trading King Felix for an injured Carpenter and having to pay Carpenter a long term A?
Hdt traded down for Gonzalez. Still kept a #1 who became Gorkys Hernandez. BTW I would drafted him or Lars Anderson with the #5 pick that I traded for M Gonzalez. So would you call it a shrewd trade to pick up a 1 year quality reliever for free?
What time does TU play it's CWS game? I can't find the horns in the TV listings.
As for Hdt, did you think Beltran, Rollins, Sexson and Glaus would all continue to hit below .210 at home for the season? Pbg and KC were the unfortunate teams that got run over when they finally started to hit.
I'm hoping Carpenter doesn't get carded and I pay him off and put him the minors to start over. Either way, King Felix is going thru growing pains and would not have helped Austin much this year, Hughes is on the DL, Renteria is having a career year and Carpenter is 13-2 with 2.00 era currently in ARBA. If he helps me get to the playoffs and then knocks HDT out it will be worth the trade. If not, it looks like a bad trade for me for this year and the future. For this year the race should be interesting the rest of the way. Without Carpenter and Renteria, Austin would be just another possible contender chasing HDT.
To answer your other question Keith about "TU"; I have no idea who TU is, but TEXAS, THE UNIVERSITY (TU?), missed out on the CWS this year, which happens on occasion. In fact they are the same place Miami, FSU, USC, Stanford, and LSU are this year, at home watching on t.v. But me, where have I been that I'm just now answering this? Well eventhough Texas wasn't at the CWS, I was. Saw 5 games in 5 days and ahd a great time, even without Texas there.
