ARBA Message Board

Mike

Hi guys, thanks for bringing me on board. The team formerly known as Wadsworth seems to have a relative surplus of position players and a distinct and terrifying lack of starting pitching. I can offer up infielders (Teixeira or Mauer at 1st, Jhonny Peralta or Brandon Crawford at SS, and the Panda or...

This Federal League Division Series matchup featured two division winners that look very different indeed. Surprise (126-36) brutally dominated all season, whereas Camden (84-78) didn't expect to make the playoffs and pretty much won their division by default. So yeah, SUR had 42 more wins i...

All - I am very pleased to announce that we have two new owners joining us. They are taking over from Ray, who will be stepping aside from COV after he concludes the playoffs, and Kyle, who is stepping down from WAD. Many thanks to Ray and Kyle for being excellent owners. Please join me in welcoming Mi...

Eric

Hello all. Ray had trouble posting this and YOC is slacking off again, so I'll try to perform this important public service. Look for an update on FLDS CMD@SUR soon, probably tomorrow. Continental Playoffs: Dime Box vs. CovingtonDBX came into the playoff series with home field advantage and an...

Kevin

Hi all: I am currently the commissioner of another strat league, in which several ARBA owners (Eric, Tom, Jon, Joe, Josh) also play. We have three vacancies this offseason if anyone is interested in joining. The other league has no minor league system and no salary system- once you own a player you c...

All - I know that various people have discussed possible rule proposals (some on this very board!) for the upcoming season. All rule proposals are due tomorrow WEDNESDAY 10/29. Please send proposals to me or post them here before the end of the day tomorrow. Thanks, -Tom

Oscar Taveras has apparently died in a car accident. Poor guy, may he RIP. Sheesh this is the same franchise that had Nick Adenhart on it. PBG's bad luck goes all the way back to Dave Dravecky, literally losing his pitching arm while a Phillippian. SMH

Doug

KC is looking to trade him for a good young SP. Email me if you have any offers.

I, too, appreciate the efforts of Tom and Gary in getting together an accurate record of the current A players, but I wanted to float an idea for the future. MLB offense has been dropping for some time. In 2004, the major league average OPS was 763. In 2014, it was 700. The progression has been gradual...

All - The revised A Player list has been posted. The only "new" A players for this season are David Price and Adam Wainwright, who were already on long-term A contracts. This is easily the shortest list of A Players than I can remember, although we do have 3 players that will presumably get...

Looking for players to make another playoff run Upgrades Needed: 2b (Brandon Phillips) 3b (Matt Dominguez) C (Conger/Grandal) Pure holes in team: CF (although I guess I could play Bruce there) Relief (both lh/rh) Random needs: 2nd/3rd round picks Available: Michael Choice (first year call up...

Sewell, as I mentioned before, is shopping Derek Jeter's farewell tour. He will be in the C auction if not traded. The other card Sewell is putting on the block is Robbie Ray, who just turned 23 and was the BA #97 prospect prior to the season. He can be an unlimited SP, or is also little-A eligible if you...

Eric

Surprise definitely isn't ready to start the offseason yet, but I'll go ahead and post some initial thoughts anyway. Their pitching looks very good again, despite some disappointments. However, the offense isn't really up to par and most of the part-time studs from their 2014 team cratered. So...

Eric

Yeah, okay. I should probably make some attempt to participate in the offseason, or whatever. Shiner somehow won 80 games in the 1st year of their rebuilding project and it's probably going to get much worse before it gets better. So almost everyone's for sale! Although picks and prospects are...

David Ortiz is coming off A (unless my math skills fail me). I'm not sure what his contract status will be if traded, but since he was an E player in 1999, I am assuming he is at worst a B15. That would be 480K for a guy who hits 263/355/517. The other carded player who I'm shopping is Tony Cingrani (B2), who...
